One of his well known work is "Suzy Parker in my studio ( Evening Dress by Dior) in Paris Studio. The medium he used was photography and in gelatin silver print.  The image was reputedly one of Avedon’s favorites, out of all the ones he accomplished.

Another one of his ark pieces is Boyd Fortin, Thirteen Year Old Rattlesnake Skinner, Sweetwater, TX. The medium he used for this piece was gelatin silver print. Most of his work was in that print. He's well known for his contrast and quality in his pictures. He mainly focused on people from the western United States. This particular photo has a lot of meaning and detail. Avedon wanted people to see the circumstances of people and his neighbors.

Another one of his pieces is Marilyn Monroe, actress, New York City. Many of his works are women and sometimes nudity. Many of his shots are profoundly dramatic and dynamic. He wants all his women to be in motion and chill. Not stiff and still. Over the course of his life he was very successful, he dies at the age of 80.
